At Kotze & Bensch Physiotherapy, we understand that pain and limited movement affect more than just your body. They change how you work, how you sleep and how you show up for the people around you. That is why our approach goes beyond treating symptoms. We take the time to understand your specific situation, assess how your body is functioning and build a treatment plan that makes sense for your life.
Our physiotherapy practice in Potchefstroom offers a wide range of services, from post-operative rehabilitation and chronic pain management to chest physiotherapy and paediatric care. Whether you need treatment at the practice, in hospital or at home, we are here to support your recovery from start to finish.
Corlia Kotze is a qualified physiotherapist who graduated from the University of the Free State. After completing her community service year at Sebokeng Hospital, she spent several years in private practice in Midstream, treating patients with a broad spectrum of orthopaedic and neurological conditions. In 2021, she relocated to Potchefstroom, where she also began pursuing a Master's degree in Cardiology, Respirology and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Corlia has a particular focus on helping people with chronic health conditions regain control over their daily lives and their pain. She is committed to continued professional development and regularly attends courses to stay current with evolving treatment methods. Outside the practice, she is a mother of two daughters and values the time she spends with her family.
Our physiotherapy practice provides a comprehensive range of services to suit different needs and stages of life. If you are looking for a physiotherapist near you in Potchefstroom, here is what we can help with.
Paediatrics
Children develop at different rates, and sometimes they need a little extra help along the way. Our paediatric physiotherapy sessions focus on developmental milestones, motor skills and movement patterns, using age-appropriate exercises in a calm, supportive environment.
Respiratory conditions can significantly affect your energy, your sleep and your ability to carry out daily tasks. Chest physiotherapy uses targeted techniques such as breathing exercises, airway clearance and postural drainage to help improve lung function and ease breathing difficulties.
Not everyone is able to travel to a practice, especially after surgery or during illness. We offer home visit physiotherapy for patients in and around Potchefstroom who need treatment in the comfort of their own environment. The same standard of care applies, just without the commute.
Rehabilitation is not a one-size-fits-all process. Whether you are recovering from an injury, an operation or a neurological event, our rehabilitation programmes are structured around your goals and your pace. We work with you to rebuild strength, restore mobility and get you back to the activities that matter most.
Living with chronic or persistent pain can be exhausting. Our pain management approach combines manual therapy, targeted exercises and education to help you understand your pain better and develop strategies that reduce its impact on your life. The goal is not just short-term relief. It is long-term function.
Recovery often begins while you are still in the hospital. We provide in-hospital physiotherapy to help patients mobilise safely, manage post-surgical complications and begin the rehabilitation process as early as possible. Early intervention can make a meaningful difference to recovery time and overall outcomes.
Preparing your body for birth is just as important as preparing your home. Our prenatal education classes cover breathing techniques, pelvic floor awareness, postural guidance and what to expect during labour and recovery. These sessions give expectant parents practical tools and honest information for the months ahead.
A sports injury does not just sideline your training. It affects your confidence and your routine. We assess and treat a range of sports-related injuries, from muscle strains and ligament sprains to overuse conditions. Treatment plans are tailored to get you back to your sport safely, with a clear focus on preventing re-injury.
Surgery is only part of the journey. What happens afterwards often determines how well you recover. Our post-operative physiotherapy focuses on restoring range of motion, rebuilding strength and guiding you through each phase of healing. We work closely with your surgeon's recommendations to make sure your rehab stays on track.
